Tarot Reading for the Collective ~ April 2015

Welcome to your April Tarot Reading for the Collective! This time I am using the latest tarot deck from the magical Ellen Lorenzi-Prince – the Minoan Tarot. Like her other decks that I am fortunate to have in my collection – The Dark Goddess Tarot and the Tarot of the Crone – I am enjoying the beauty of the images and the knowledge and integrity that emerges from every card I gaze upon. So let us begin – with the wisdom of the Minoans!

We start with Shipwreck (The Tower), or rather, we leave it behind. For we need not continually dive into its deconstructing ways. We know pain all too well, and we know confusion and grief all too well. We now need to walk forward on a path where we can navigate uncertainty without having to lose our minds and everything we hold dear. Life is too interesting to pull ourselves apart and expect the worst every time we feel uncomfortable.

Shipwreck, do you have any words to add?

Ohh look, just let things fall away if they need to. Don’t fight, just let the unnecessary stuff go. You don’t need it – you never did. Lean into the mysteriousness and learn how to embrace the never-ceasing change for once, rather than building a fort to try and prevent the inevitable.

Shall I continue with the sea theme and speak to you all now?

If you wouldn’t mind, Sea Four (Four of Cups).

I don’t mind, I never mind, I am helping you all chart a way home without calling on a god for help, ha! Well, call on a god if you must but don’t think that’s the magic key to unlock the strangeness of life. I will help you swim with your dreams in a way that brings respite and healing.

Once you are connecting more with your dreams you are more likely to dive in and swim bravely into the open sea where all manner of marvels could happen to you! And although there could be hardship at times, there will also be enchanting landscapes, unexpected positivity and intriguing people who are open to your story.

Thank you Shipwreck and Sea Four. I now think it’s time we introduced some warmth into this reading. Sun, will you join us now?

Of course my dears. So, here we all are again, at an edge of an adventure with so many routes to take. Which one will you take, Collective? If you dance with me I will encourage you to choose the path of pleasure, curiosity and celebration.

I will help you break away from conformity and find new ways to exist in the light that reaches this planet from afar. With me you can recognise that what is considered ‘normal’ is really that which is just common. Nothing to see there. Try and look out for the spaces that exist beyond the confining boundaries imposed by the status quo.

Standing with the Sun is to stand against ignorance and intolerance. To walk with the Sun is to bravely face destructive patterns and blast them apart with nonjudgmental love and fierce, powerful compassion. It’s not easy to stand for long with the Sun (particularly if you live in the Antipodes, due to the patchiness of the ozone layer) yet I shall reward you with vitality if you visit me this month.

And I shall keep my face to your sunshine, dear Sun.

Thank you for the sentiment, God (Hierophant).

God, eh? Well, please do reveal your teachings to us.

Thank you Collective. Well. I am here to help you keep your chin up, your path clear and your will-power strong. There are many obstacles to face, as there always are. But these obstacles do not have to get you down. You can be more “Oh, discomfort has arisen. Hmm. What can I do to shift this?”, rather than “Argh! Everything has fallen apart and everything sucks and I don’t know what to do!”.

Although I do agree that sometimes the world that you Collective live in becomes like a horrifying playground for narcissistic imbeciles who seem intent on destroying everything sublime and magnificent. So yes, the rage will rise.

You could always become authoritarian yourselves and try and punish people for being different to you, but where’s the fun in that? Violence is not fun. We are taught to enjoy it but all we end up with is a sour face, knotted up intestines and misery. I dislike violence immensely and want to help you all find empowering peace-oriented ways to challenge and dissolve the machinations of those who hold unethical relationships with power.

So keep your faces to the sunshine, dear Collective, and don’t let the bumble heads win.

Thank you for that rousing speech God! Art Seven (Seven of Wands), please enter the reading.

Hello darlings. I think you all need some balancing time, don’t you? You just need to walk or roll through life sometimes and feel as if you are mentally balanced enough to face the challenges of the day. You need to know that if fear and/or pain arises, you will still walk with enough grace and interest to keep you on the planet.

I will help you do this. I will bring your attention back to the quiet understanding that lurks deep within you, where you have that sneaking suspicion that perhaps you will be okay. That perhaps there is a crack that is forming in the bleakness around you and you will learn how to shine again. And if you are already feeling shiny, I will help you to keep moving into that space so that you can grow in your strength rather settle into a plateau.

Now move onto Earth Eight (Eight of Pentacles) so that they can lead this reading to a close.

Helloooo children, are you pleased to see me? I am pleased to see you. I can’t remember the last time I appeared in a tarot deck looking so pleasant and inviting and friendly. I plan to make best use of this by taking you for a walk (in your own heads of course) where you start to have conversations with yourself that are wonderfully lacking in self-abuse – marvelous!

This month you get to be kind to yourselves! You even get to extend that kindness for longer if you wish! If you are surrounded by people who feed you negativity, know that they are very sad themselves and so they struggle to be kind. You don’t have to listen to them, it’s not like they are speaking the truth. They are just speaking their pain, and pain is full of lies and deception.

Walk with me this month, dear Collective, so that you can learn how to rebuild a positive relationship with yourself and with the ones you adore. If it is too hard to connect with some people, then don’t. There are plenty of people who will remind you of how extraordinary life can be. There are so many possibilities out there, my small ones, it is up to you all to step up to them. Go forth!

I am heading to New York City on April 18 for 10 days! The reason I am going is to attend the ‘Readers Studio’, a highly reputable tarot conference. I am excited to immerse myself in a tarot-trip and other arty adventures, and I look forward to sharing them with you all! If you want a reading before I go, my last day at work is Thursday April 16. If you want an email reading, get in quick so I have time to do it before I go! Otherwise my first day back at work will be Sunday May 3. ‘Til soon! 🙂
