Tarot Reading for the Collective ~ August 2015
To my dear readers of tarotlogical tales, here we have something a little bit different. I am using The Transparent Tarot by Emily Carding for this Tarot Reading for the Collective. I’ve never seen a deck quite like this one, and the images being printed on transparent plastic makes for some interesting layering, which we shall witness by the end.
This is the first time I have used this deck, and indeed, it has only just been given the maiden shuffle, how exciting for all of us to be sharing this moment! In this deck none of the images are named outright – the major arcana are represented by numbers, and the minor arcana are represented by numbers and symbols. Thanks goodness I am well versed with roman numerals and where the major arcana are placed numerically in the tarot deck, otherwise we’d be in trouble! So let us start as we do, with the first card, IV, otherwise known as The Emperor.
O Emperor, how positively spacious and nonhuman you are right now!
Yes, my dear Collective, I come to you in another form, and one that certainly gives me a lot more room to breathe. I bring with me my buildings and my structures that remind you to expand your vision beyond its current limitations. I also teach you how to have boundaries (maintain your preferred structure!), and the importance of maintaining them when those naughty little boundary jumpers come along, because by golly, on some days they are everywhere! Set an example and be strong. Don’t take crap from anyone! Be clear with your intentions and teach people how to treat you well, and how to treat themselves well too. Now go forth to XVII, The Star, for some glittering wisdom.
Greetings, dear Star. How shall we receive your sustenance this month?
Receive me by twinkling away, by shining your light deep into the abyss of your past, by inviting in the opportunity to heal old things, and by throwing off the gunk. Don’t forget to share what you find with others, as it can be useful for others to know of your past hardships so that they can see it is possible to be powerful and clear despite the pains and setbacks of personal history. Move on to the 4 of Pentacles for a grounding follow up to what I bring.
Hello Collective, allow me to speak directly. I want you all to hold fast to what you know, to keep safe the quiet flickerings of your heart and what you hold dear. But of course! My intention is to help you all build something worth building – something your heart says yes to. Something you trust in, even though the cynical and highly strung types say it cannot be done. What are the relaxed and open-hearted types saying? What are the dreamers and seekers saying to fan your flame? Stay close to those that can perceive magic, because by golly it is gathering around us all and we’d better know what to do with it when we get our chance to change. Now go to the Queen of Pentacles, she has more to say about all this.

My children, I want you to know what you are holding so that you can describe it in great detail. Hold it somewhere where people can see it and move towards your doings, and deny yourself the need to throw yourself at people who need convincing of your talents. There is no time to convince people who are not directly on your path. Walk (or run!) with the swift movers, the ones who are clear in their intentions to contribute to a more whole planet. There is always more to say, but for now, let XX, Judgment take you to the end of this reading.
Welcome Judgment (known as Liberation in some decks, Rejuvenation in others…). You’re rising like a phoenix out of the ashes!
Well, obviously that is indeed what I am doing. My dears, I am here with the very clear reminder for all of you to put yourselves outside of your comfort zone again and again, without ever expecting that you just get to just stay IN your comfort zone one day. Don’t give up the dance until you’re ready, and never deny yourself of a dance that is still lingering inside of you. Those dances need to be expressed so that we can all move on together. Judging others sucks, whether positively or negatively, as does ill-thought out plans. Shift yourselves around the status quo and herald in a future that you can heartfully believe in. And ALWAYS remember how far you’ve come.
And now, as promised, here is the layering of all of the cards in this reading. Here is our magic, friends, the defining of our universe for the month. Gaze upon it and see what leaps out at you, and also see how supportive it looks when all the parts come together as a whole. May we all embody as much of these archetypes as possible this month!
