I have been a bit stealth with this one, but I can now announce to you all that I have created and produced my very own delicious and stimulating chai tea blend!

As of Wednesday, December 11 (that’s 11/12/13 – I like interesting dates!) you can buy your very own packet of Psychic Sarah’s Queen of Cups Chai blend to take home and brew yourself.

I personally select, pound and blend the spices and package every single packet of chai.

I love making chai and my left arm is getting a good workout from all that mortar and pestling!

The Background to My Love of Chai & Why I Am Qualified to Bring it to Your Home!

I have been making chai for as long as I’ve been a full-time tarot reader (since 2003). I originally based it on an authentic Indian recipe and have been experimenting with it ever since. Chai making has always been a lengthy and loving process where I brew all the spices up from scratch, and it usually takes up to an hour to complete the task (since I go to such efforts I always make A LOT of chai! And share it around).

Most years when I am celebrating the anniversary of going full-time tarot (May 2003), there will be at least one day when I brew up a lot of delicious chai and bring thermoses in to work to share with clients and colleagues. One year I brought in homemade chai every day for a week.

Friends and family have been suggesting to me for almost as long that I’ve been making it, that I should package and sell my very own chai mix, to which I have always responded with a “nah”, while thinking “Why would I do that? It has to be made from scratch if it’s to be made properly!”.

When I first came to look at the upstairs room (for my tarot studio) at Suzy Spoon’s Vegetarian Butcher, I brought with me a thermos of my special homemade freshly brewed chai. I loved the room, and Suzy Spoon loved the chai! Since then she has been asking me when I will package my own chai so that she can sell it in the shop.

When she asked me again two months ago, finally it clicked. Yes! I am ready to figure out how to condense 60 minutes of chai-brewing time into under 10 minutes!

Since then my weekends have been filled with chai experiments, as I figured out a method to shorten the lengthy brewing time, and applied mathematical precision to my usual intuitive ingredient-throwing style. I finally found the winning combination, which has received hearty appreciation from my partner, friends and neighbours (all of whom are chai addicts, and would have told me if it wasn’t quite right. Indeed, they did inform me when it wasn’t quite right in the experimental stages).

So now Psychic Sarah’s Queen of Cups Chai is here and is ready to be enjoyed by one and all! You can drink it in house at Suzy Spoon’s Vegetarian Butcher, and you can also buy a packet from there to take home with you to brew yourself.
