Ah, the good ol’ Empress. Always helpful for a reminder of the importance of being comfortable in our skin and trusting our own wisdom rather than taking another’s words as gospel. I can see though that she is trying to withdraw from us for some time. She has grown tired of us, I suppose, or we have grown tired of her, who knows.

Why would she do this? Perhaps she doesn’t want us to come to her on our knees at the moment? Perhaps she would prefer that we cleverly defer our attention away from mischief-makers and instead focus on our larger dreams and visions, without having to call on her for assistance.

Perhaps she needs a break from our flounderings and wishes for us to stop trying to explain our indignant thoughts to those heavily committed to not listening to them. Perhaps we need a break too. Maybe we should go into respite with The Empress.

No!

Oh! Sorry Empress. I didn’t realise you were still within earshot. Forget I suggested such a thing. We’re moving along now. So we’re moving along to… The Queen of Vessels (Cups) – greetings dear Queen!

Hello my darling Collective.

I’m loving the form in which you are appearing to us dear Queen.

Yes, the artist drew me a tail. It helps me move more graciously through life.

Is that the teaching you would like to offer us Queen? Gracious movement?

Well yes, and really the grace comes because I take the time to sit with my emotions, you know, sort through them until I’m less charged up by the various experiences I go through in life. I’m less messy that way.

So for you all, darling Collective, I would like to remind you of the importance of debriefing with a loved one or a professional one or a random stranger (who explicitly gives you permission) before you unleash the full gamut of your emotions on the world around you.

I don’t suggest you censor yourselves, no, not at all. In fact you may find yourself able to speak with more verve, clarity and wisdom if you take the time to self-connect first.

Ah, thank you Queen of Vessels. And now over to your brother, the Knight of Vessels (Cups).

Thank you for noticing. And you know I chose a heart because I am a bit of a romantic. Not in a gooey way of course, I just like to be reminded of love and the importance of sharing it with others.

What if we’re struggling with the sharing bit, O Knight? There’s a lot of craziness happening within the Collective.

Yes yes, but… oh. It’s just hard sometimes. What do you do Knight of Vessels when you’re trying to share love and it just doesn’t seem to go anywhere?

I sing to the fishes. By saying that of course I don’t think you should sing to the fishes, unless you have an overwhelming volition to. By that I mean, find your own eccentric way of sharing random acts of kindness with the world, even if others think you silly. Maybe you are silly!

But being silly is not a bad thing and at least by your actions you can better deal with the wall of animosity you may face at times. Now run along to the Lady of Staffs, I think you’ll like what she has to say.

Yes, I am also known as the Page of Wands. All the Pages are Ladies in this deck. I am content with the change.

What would the Lady of Staffs bring to the Collective?

Freedom to move, to dance , to create. Freedom to share your heart’s longing with the world without censorship, without fear. The capacity to light the fire under your own bottom and the bottoms of others. Just movement really. Dance with me when you’re ready to make a whimsical idea more bold and robust. Ah, ok, so… whoa King of Vessels! You’re a whale!

Yes, you noticed, haha! Oh I do love being a whale, I am mightily pleased with the artist of this tarot deck!

There are a lot of Vessels in this reading, we have already spoken to the Queen and the Knight of Vessels.

Well I’m not surprised. February can be a momentous time as everyone gets into the swing of the year. More emotional outbursts (or attempted suppression of emotions) can arise, and we help the Collective deal with those eventualities.

What do you as the King specifically offer?

Just joy and ease in walking through the world, connecting with myself and others. People will often look to the King as the leader of the Vessels but I am no more the leader than any of my fellow counterparts. Really I just cap off the Vessels experience.

Stick with me, Collective, and you may be able to resolve some long-standing difficult scenarios. And of course, sometimes ‘resolving’ is making the sane choice to step away from engaging with issues that show no evidence of becoming fruitful.

Clearly! I thought it time to whip the Collective into shape, to remind you all of the importance of balance and staying focused and also the importance of just getting on with things.

No need to wait for anyone – if it’s not happening now, it’s not happening now! So carry on, and if it’s meant to happen it will.

I don’t breed sentimentality and attachment and neither should you! I know that’s not easy, but at least give it a go. Try to move away from situations that are stagnant and instead connect with your own creative ideas, or gather support from the like-minded ones.

Don’t drop your integrity as you move swiftly into your future. It may seem at times that in order to fit in or move ahead in life, one’s integrity needs to be tampered with, or discarded all together. This will only cause you suffering however, and in order to try and stop the inevitable suffering you will no doubt partake in activities that numb your brain and heart. Argh!

So remember: Integrity is your best friend on The Chariot, and indeed in life. Enjoy the dance ahead my friends!
